Provident Financial was delighted to be awarded the PwC Building Public Trust (BPT) award for ‘FTSE 250 Excellence in Reporting’ for the second year running.

This year’s award focused on company annual reports which looked beyond regulatory compliance and presented a compelling and integrated narrative across the key pillars of strategic, governance, remuneration, sustainability, people and tax reporting. Andrew Fisher, Finance Director at Provident Financial who accepted the award, said “Provident Financial continues to broaden its offering of credit products which are tailor-made to the needs of customers in the non-standard credit market. We are delighted to receive formal recognition for the second consecutive year as the top FTSE 250 company for trust and transparency in the way we report the progress of our business, our corporate governance and the broader contribution to the communities in which we are involved.”

Commenting on Provident Financial's success, Charles Bowman, a senior PwC partner and chairman of the Building Public Trust Awards programme, said "Provident Financial retained the top spot in the FTSE 250 category for reporting that is clear, well-presented, and tells a compelling story. The bedrock is a comprehensive strategic report underpinned by strong market analysis and detailed segmental coverage. The corporate governance disclosures are equally strong, including a very clear introduction from the Chairman, and one of the most detailed explanations of the board evaluation process that the judges had ever seen."
