The Role

In accordance with and adherence to the IT Test Services Approach/Strategy/Standards and Project Management disciplines, the IT Test Analyst will:

• Demonstrate excellent analytical, critical thought and rational enquiry skills to define the most appropriate test scenarios, predict expected outcomes and investigate deviations from same during execution.
• Deliver test deliverables (high and low level test plans, test data etc.) in line with project / release requirements to quality and within budget
• Design, document and maintain test harnesses for use during the execution of test plans, particularly test menus and test tool maintenance.
• Develop an appropriate understanding of the systems interfaces and technology involved to enable realistic test environments to be maintained
• Provide evolving forecasting and estimation metrics across the project lifecycle
• Deliver quality reporting within Testing work streams
• QA & peer review of colleagues deliverables.
• Provide handover and warranty support for projects, taking a proactive interest and approach to root cause analysis.

The person

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following technical capability, knowledge, skills and attributes:

• Experience in key test phases (integration, system, performance, regression, etc.) with planning and scripting experience
• Data Warehouse Testing Experience
• Experience in Peer/Technical Reviews, honest and responsive when interacting with colleagues
• Varied experience of working with structured requirements and agile methodologies
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, critical thought and rational enquiry skills
• Committed to quality driven results and a thorough approach
• Knowledge and experience with Automated Test Tools (specifically Facilita/Forecast suite)
• Strong knowledge of N-Tier architecture and experience of testing bespoke applications
• Proficiency in general programming languages and a dynamic scripting languages, with strong skills in SQL (in depth knowledge of complex query building, stored procedures etc.) and two or more of the following:
• VB, C++, C #, Java/Java Script, , XML & Web Services, .NET (desirable)

• Environmental Configuration/Resolution Skills
• Strong communication skills (excellent written and verbal communication skills)
• In depth understanding of the project/product lifecycle with active interest in support throughout the product lifecycle
• Knowledge transfer/handover skills Planning and time management skills

Salary

£25k - £30k dependant on experience
